Gail Box, mother of Austin Box and representative of the Austin Box Foundation, spoke to the Cherokee JH and HS students to close out Red Ribbon Week. She spoke about her son’s story and how his prescription medication misuse lead to his death. She encouraged students to “sharpen each other “ by teaming up together and helping make those around us better. She let the students know there is always help Making good choices and never choosing to start abusing drugs/alcohol also were part of the presentation. Each student was given a red bracelet with “Sharpen Each Other” on it to serve as a reminder.
The FCCLA and STUCO organizations teamed up to promote Red Ribbon Week.
