Cherokee Chief fans,
The High School Football game scheduled for October 9th at Waukomis has been canceled due to the Waukomis football team being quarantined. We are making every attempt to reschedule this game if possible, or to find another team to play next Friday. The Junior Varsity game scheduled for Monday October 5th vs Pioneer has also been canceled due to eligibility issues for Pioneer. We are still scheduled to play Junior High beginning at 5:30pm Monday. We will keep everyone informed as information becomes available on next Friday’s possibilities. We are disappointed, but we will remain hopeful and positive as we continue our season.

Our next scheduled Virtual Learning Day is Monday! Just a reminder grades and attendance will be taken on virtual days. Teachers & Staff will be at school if you need assistance, please email your teacher or call the school.
Football update: The football game scheduled for Monday, October 5th will just be a JH game. Kickoff will be at 5:30pm.

Schedule Update: Tomorrows football game will just be JH & JV. The JH game will start at 5:30pm and the JV will follow.
Dear Cherokee Families,
After consulting with the Health Department in regards to our positive case, it has been determined that our 5th Grade class will need to be quarantined and placed on distance learning beginning Oct. 1st and ending Oct. 13th. Due to the nature of the High School classes on September 28th and 29th there will not be a need for those students to quarantine according to the Health Department's guidelines. High School students asked to remain at home today may return to school immediately. All 5th grade families will be notified by letter in the next few days on the Health Departments recommendations for quarantine procedures. As always, Cherokee Public Schools are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all students and staff while providing the best educational services possible.
*All of our quarantine procedures and contact tracing are guided by the State and County Health Department.

We have had a faculty member that has tested positive for COVID-19. Until contact tracing can be completed with the Health Department the following classes will be moved to distance learning: The 5th Grade Class, the Freshman Class and the 6th Hour Anatomy Class. Once contact tracing is complete we will notify families if their student is able to return to class or will need to remain on distance learning. Contract tracing should be completed within 24-48 hours. All of our quarantine procedures and contact tracing are guided by the State and County Health Department.

Elementary School Parents - Students will be bringing home the attached flyer. Instead of filling out a booklet of mailing addresses, this year the fundraiser is all online! Just follow the instructions and help our school earn funds! Students that return the flyer with a prize code will receive a prize.
