2021 Cherokee Invitational Tournament Guidelines January 7th-9th
In accordance with Governor Stitt’s Covid 19 Mitigation measures concerning indoor events our basketball tournament attendance will be limited. We will only be able to allow four spectators per participant. ● Tickets will be sent to all participating school’s teams before the first scheduled day of the tournament. It will be each school's responsibility to distribute tickets to their players. Each ticket will be good for all three days of the tournament. ● You must have a ticket to get in the game. No exceptions. ● This ticket does not waive the price of admission; it only gives the holder admittance to the game(s). ● Once the game you are in attendance to watch has been completed we ask that you please exit the gymnasium within 10 minutes to allow for social distancing. ● Please do not arrive earlier than 15 minutes prior to the scheduled game time for your student athlete’s game. ● Please only attend the games in which your school and athlete is participating in. ● Please social distance at all times, wash your hands and wear a mask as recommended. *Tournament could be delayed if occupancy reaches more spectators than allowed for one game. Please help us by only attending the game(s) your student athlete is participating in. *Only Cherokee Invitational tournament tickets will be accepted for admission.

Cherokee Schools Return to school FAQ sheet January 2021:
In order to return to school for a healthy 2021 spring semester here are a few frequently asked questions that may help you determine if your child is able to return to school after the break.
Will Cherokee Schools be opening back up in person on January 5th?
Yes, Cherokee Schools will be back in person on January 5th to begin our spring semester.
When can my child return to school if they have been exposed to COVID 19 over the break?
Your child can return to school once one of the following has been met.
A: Your child receives a negative covid test result 5-7 days after the last date of exposure to a positive individual. Tests must be taken no sooner than 5 days after the last date of exposure. Your child may return to school on the 8th day with a negative test result and no symptoms. Daily symptom monitoring must be done by parents for an additional 7 days. Social distancing and wearing a mask must also continue during the additional 7 days.
B: Your child does not take a test and has quarantined for 10 days after the last date of exposure. Your child may return on the 11th day after exposure. Children must be symptom free and parents continue to monitor symptoms daily for 4 days, social distance and wear a mask.
*Last date of exposure means the last day someone was in close contact with a positive individual, within 6ft for a total of 15 min or more within a 24hr period.
What if someone in my household has tested positive for COVID?
The above A and B criteria for return still apply, however the last date of exposure from someone living in the same household unfortunately may cause the date of return to be much longer than 7-10 days.
*For more accurate dates please contact the school office and consult with the administration for a possible return date. Your health care provider may also assist you with return dates for your children in these situations.
When can my child return to school if they test positive for COVID 19?
Your child may return to school:
A: 10 days after the first day of symptoms prior to testing positive and they are symptom free.
B: If no symptoms were present when the test was administered it is 10 days from the date of the test as long as they are symptom free.
If your child will not be able to return on January 5th please contact the school office on Monday January 4th, and let us know. We will then help determine the date for their return, establish distance learning needs and set up any meal request at that time.
