5/6 Grade basketball bus will leave at 3:30 pm on Monday for games at Burlington.
JH bus will leave at 4:45pm.
If basketball players want to ride with their parents instead of on the bus they can but they need to let the coaches know tomorrow at school.

New Quarantine Guidelines for Covid-19 Exposures:
As many of you are aware the CDC has updated the guidelines for quarantine after a direct exposure to Covid-19.
Effective Immediately and retroactively Cherokee Public Schools will be implementing these guidelines. Meaning any students or staff currently in quarantine will fall under these guidelines.
These guidelines apply to individuals who have exhibited no Covid like symptoms.
1. The quarantine period is 7 days if a Covid test is taken on day 5 or 6 of quarantine and the result is negative. A copy of the test results will need to be provided to the school.
2. The quarantine is 10 days if no test is taken.
3. Anyone who is exposed must monitor symptoms for 14 days from exposure and if symptoms appear will need to return to quarantine. A covid test is encouraged if symptoms are present.
Please call the school if you have any questions.
Cherokee schools will be in session and begin at normal time tomorrow. We may see some snow fall over night but the heaviest amounts appear to be staying west of us. Students who came home with a device need to be sure and return to school with them tomorrow. Please allow more time if the roads are snow covered or icy in the morning and drive safe.

Basketball Update! On December 8th only the HS Boys will play at Cherokee. The game will start at 6:30pm.

In planning for possible inclement weather on Wednesday night into Thursday we are anticipating a school closure on Thursday, December 3rd. This will be a distance learning day if we do not have in-person school. A decision will be made on Wednesday evening in order to give parents and students time to plan for Thursday. Devices will be sent home with students as necessary on Wednesday in preparation for this possible distance learning day. Please make sure all devices are returned by the next school day. We will make announcements and give updates as needed.

Picture Reminder! On Monday, November 30th we will take 5/6 and JH Basketball pictures. We will also be taking retakes for school pictures and Senior panel pictures.
We have made some changes to our basketball schedules. Updated schedules are posted to our website and linked below. All games scheduled for the week of November 30th have been postponed.

Cherokee Families,
We have had 1 student at Cherokee High School test positive for COVID-19. We have identified 17 students & 2 staff who were in close contact and will begin immediate quarantine. Every parent of a child who came into close contact has been personally notified. If you did not receive a text message your child did not come into close contact with this individual. All of our quarantine procedures and contact tracing are guided by the State and County Health Department.
